Obama: "Stimulus Worked as Intended."

Posted on 11 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Ok, folks, this is idiotic.

The Economic Stimulus Package “has worked as intended.”

“It has already extended unemployment insurance and health insurance to those who have lost their jobs in this recession.  It has delivered $43 billion in tax relief to American working families and business.”

Now, ladies and gentlemen, I’m getting a little confused on who wants what, here.  Let’s break it down–no one will be dancing…

In my post from a couple of days ago, I reported that an Obama adviser wants a second stimulus…

So, chalk one up for both sides.  Joe Biden thinks we should hold off, but the adviser says we should go for it.

Now, let’s take a look at how the Economic Stimulus has worked…

Of course, many have heard about how dead people are receiving economic Stimulus checks…

Economic Stimulus money has surpassed taxation as biggest revenue generator for States.

Illinois has snagged 12% of the economic stimulus money…and, of the 2,000 approved projects, 243 of them go to the state of Illinois…coincidence?

Just remember, that was all supposed to happen…

Oh, and, not to stir the pot, but, Where are those jobs?  I don’t even remember how many we were supposed to create, or save, or creatorsave or whatever the verbiage of the administration is at the time of this writing…

Posted on 05 May 2009 by Mr. Harrington

The Federal Government.

Federal Aid–economic stimulus dollars as well as other aid–has beaten sales tax and income tax!

This is historic, folks…

US Soldiers to be Tried in Iraq?

Posted on 27 April 2009 by Mr. Harrington

According to Fox News, US soldiers involved in a raid yesterday–April 26–that ended in six arrests and two deaths, may be tried in Iraq for “‘grave’ and premeditated felonies.”

This could have dire consequences.  If I were on the ground in Iraq, I would be worried about taking that shot…

Folks, this cannot happen.  Our leaders better be on top of this…

Developing…

What a Coincidence…

Posted on 13 April 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Well, the state of Illinois has snagged 12% of economic stimulus money for transportation projects.  Of the 2,000 approved projects, 243 of them go to the state of Illinois–$629 million.

Folks, Now I am curious as to the percentages of other states.  This is an interesting statistic.

I will continue to follow up on this story.

New States to be Added to the USA

Posted on 18 September 2008 by Mr. Harrington

The United States just got a little bigger.

Now this is old news, but bare with me.  Barack Obama thinks there are fifty seven states.

Now, folks, I brought this up with a friend of mine who is an Obama supporter; here is the conversation:

Matt:  “Barack Obama thinks there are fifty two states.”

Source: “Puerto Rico and Guam.”

Matt:  “Those are not states.”

Source:  “Only because we don’t want to put more stars on the flag.  They’re territories.  They vote.  They count.”

Matt:  “They are not taxed.  They do not want to be states because they will be taxed.”

Source:  “But they still vote.”

Matt:  “Oops, not fifty two states, fifty seven.  I’ll send you the link.”

Now, I’m not sure.  But I vote, am I a state?  The youths these days, ladies and gentlemen, they believe what they want to believe.  I don’t understand why political knowledge has declined in the recent years.  I am embarrassed for my generation because of their lack of understanding of the American political system.

My friends actually think the President makes laws.  Really?  My friends actually think the President can adjust oil prices.  Really?  My friends now actually think Puerto Rico and Guam are “basically” states.

These people are not stupid.  They all attended private Catholic high schools, attend universities up and down the West Coast, and all of them don’t have a political education.  Several were in Advanced Placement US History and Advanced Placement Government in high school.  Now what does this mean?  This means that my friends can spit dates and random facts, but when it comes to a working knowledge of the political system, they all fall short.

Now don’t get me wrong, folks, I am not insinuating I am the font of knowledge in political matters, but as an aspiring politician, I have a working knowledge of the subject.
