Obama May Forgo Public Option

Posted on 01 September 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, while this is a big victory, we still must keep a watchful eye.

Barack Obama has said the healthcare bill does not require a public option for his approval.  Obama’s senior advisor David Axelrod said,

“It’s time to synthesize and harmonize these strands and get this done. We’re confident that we can do that. But obviously it is a different phase. We’re going to approach it in a different way. The president is going to be very active.”

The Politico reports, “‘We have been saying all along that the most important part of this debate is not the public option, but rather ensuring choice and competition,” an aide said. “There are lots of different ways to get there.’”

Now, folks, they may not have a public option now, but if we let up, they will slowly bring about a fascist, socialized health care system.

Reid: Kennedy Death “Going to Help Us.”

Posted on 01 September 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, in a stunning display of his Democratic insensitivity, Harry Reid said that the death of Senator Ted Kennedy would help the health care movement.

While he may be right, he shouldn’t be right.

The only bill that deserves the posthumous Kennedy name is one that allows for the will to live to be calculated into health care matters.  Kennedy’s will to live was just as great as any other American’s.  Why should he have the luxury of being allowed treatment at his advanced age of 77 for what proved to be terminal brain cancer, when hundreds, thousands, millions of Americans would have to forgo treatment because of rationed government care?  Adding his name to such a bill, or pretending he would have endorsed such a bill, does him, his death, and his name a disservice.

Obama and Dems to Drop Public Option? Nope! I Guess Not!

Posted on 16 August 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, the fight seems to be working.  Yahoo! News is reporting that Barack Obama and the Democrats may, in fact, drop the “government run” heath insurance option in favor of a co-op system run by the members.

Read

The “Un-American” activities are working.  The people do not want government run healthcare coverage.  It is plain and simple, ladies and gentlemen.

And not only is it not wanted, according to Kathleen Sebelius, it isn’t necessary.

Bloomberg is reporting, “What’s important is choice and competition,” Sebelius said today on CNN’s “State of the Union.”  The public option itself “is not the essential element.”

Than for what purpose did they try and Rahm it down our throats?

Kent Conrad said, “There are not the votes in the Senate for the public option, there never have been.  To continue to chase that rabbit, I think, is just a wasted effort.”

And, more importantly, you did not have the support of the people.

Check out the Article on Hot Air.

UPDATE: August 17, 2009:

Sorry, according to the White House, Kathleen Sebelius “misspoke.”

Linda Douglass Agrees with the first White House spokesperson, saying, “Nothing has changed.”

However, a third has broken from the ranks…

No one misspoke about the issue, “The media just misplayed it.”

Astroturf: Who is Really Laying Down Sod?

Posted on 15 August 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, I was curious about people calling the health care protests “astroturf;” meaning, the protesters are recruited to be there by right-wing fringe leaders like Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, and, the mobfather himself, Rush Limbaugh.

But, people seem to be missing the point.  Nancy Pelosi, for example, called those asking questions of the Messiah “Un-American.”  But, in 2006, she said, “I’m a fan of disruptors.”

Check it out here.

Barack Obama said that those questioning him are being funded by Big Insurance…If only he had proof…

And he also blames the “ruckus” on “cable news.” Now, ladies and gentlemen, let’s not be dim here.  He means Fox News.

But, if it turns out these groups are getting marching orders from groups,–in the words of Rush Limbaugh–’bout damn time.

And I completely agree.  The aggressor sets the rules, folks.  The left-wing loons set a precedent for disruptive behavior, and to refer to the questioning of an elected official as “Un-American” is simply that.

Now, let’s take a look at the real astroturf.

Now, I must admit, I get my marching orders from MoveOn.org.  I receive their email…just so I can know what’s going on in the world outside of my God and Guns…

Here is part of an email from August 7, 2009:

Check it out–as well as just who is laying astroturf–after the jump…

Also, Sheila Jackson’s townhall: a complete SHAM…

New Video: Barack Obama Admits Government Healthcare Will Eliminate Private Insurance

Posted on 03 August 2009 by Mr. Harrington

http://obama.3cdn.net/a13cf1da3a5ff6b0c8_hknomvnvw.jpg

Folks, this video includes Barack Obama saying he is for a “single payer system.”  He also says that the government run “public option” will eliminate private insurance.  The video also shows Jan Schakowsky bragging about tearing down the health insurance system–you may remember my post on that earlier this year…

Watch the explosive video here:

UPDATE:  August 4, 2009:

The White House goes to the web to attack the Drudge Report.

Apparently the above video just cherry picked certain statements…but its pretty damning that he said that it will eliminate private insurance…

They’re in damage control here, folks.

Also, I think it is wrong that they are attacking the Drudge Report…calling it “misinformation.”

Oh, and, Happy Birthday, Barry!

Botax

Posted on 27 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Botox, face lifts, tummy tucks, hair transplants, etc., may be taxed 10% in order to pay for the $1 trillion health overhaul.

From Congress Daily: “Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucustold reporters he had heard some ‘interesting,’ ‘creative,’ and ‘kind of fun’ ideas.”

Fun taxes?  Is this guy a loon?

The only state that taxes cosmetic surgery is New Jersey.

Republicans Unveil Flow Chart of Democrat Health Care Plan

Posted on 15 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

And here it is…

Click the image for the full size version…

House-Democrats-Health-Plan

Click here for a .pdf version.

Here is what is happening with the healthcare bill.

  • The House version of the bill would make health care a right.  Read
  • It will charge millionaires a 5.4% surcharge… based solely on their success. Read

To quote an article on Bloomberg, “The intention of this plan is to tax high-income households, but the real victims would be America’s small business owners,” the Washington-based group’s president, Thomas Donohue, said in a statement. “Since when does our great free-market country punish success?”

They will also charge married couples a 1.5% surcharge if they make between $500,000 and $1 Million.

And charge married couples a 1% surcharge if they make more than $350,000…

Read

And, as someone who wants to be a business owner, this truly feels like they are punishing success…

  • Barack Obama’s Campaign team, Organizing for America, will unveil an ad campaign urging Congressmen in selected states to vote for the healthcare plan.  Read

UPDATE:  July 16, 2009:

A hospital in Massachusetts is suing the state because of lowered Medicaid reimbursement rates.  The hospital faces a $38 Million deficit–it’s first in five years…and a $100 Million by next year.

The New York Times reported, “According to the suit, Massachusetts is now reimbursing Boston Medical only 64 cents for every dollar it spends treating the poor.”

Read

Also, the top tax rate for New Yorkers will now be 57%.  That’s devastating.  Small business owners will be forced to lay off workers, or even go out of business or leave the state.

Read

UPDATE:  According to the CBO, the healthcare bill, as is currently written, will increase–not decrease–federal healthcare costs…

Now, if I’m not mistaken, I thought they wanted to try and reduce spending…Isn’t that the whole focus?  Or is it the rapid expansion of government?

Read

UPDATE:  Blue Dog Democrats have enough votes to stop the healthcare bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee.  They need seven Dem votes to stop the bill in that committee, they now have ten.

Read

UPDATE:  July 23, 2009:

House Democrats are trying to censor House Republicans and this chart.  House Republicans want to send a mailer to their constituents depicting the above chart.  Democrats are trying to have it blocked because they feel it is inaccurate.

Read

Also, Pelosi thinks she has the votes…but, as you read above, Blue Dog Democrats have enough votes to kill it.

And, of course, you all watched the President’s news conference speech thing…

Remember, he doesn’t want to play politics…but its the fault of the Republicans…  Just remember that.  He inherited this disaster, and now Republicans are trying to stop the healthcare bill…

But, let’s think about this for a minute…Democrats have a Supermajority…which means, they could pass the healthcare without the Republicans…so…isn’t it their fault?

UPDATE: July 27, 2009:

Folks, more politicians are trying to censor this chart and related language.  As you read above, Democrats feel this chart is inaccurate…

But now, Republican John Carter is feeling the heat from the left in the Franking Commission.  In a recorded audio communication, Carter said, “The House Democrats unveiled a government-run health care plan.”

He received an email from the Franking Commission saying (From CNSNews),

“In the first paragraph change ‘House Democrats unveiled a government run health care plan’ to either ‘the house majority (sic) unveiled a public option health care plan’ or ‘Just this past week the House majority (sic) unveiled a health care plan which I believe will cost taxpayers ….’”

Folks, this amount of censorship shows just how afraid of the people they are.  The Democrats are running scared, and they don’t want to allow Republicans to call it what it is…

I went to look at the Franking Commission website, and, because its a government website, all of the links to their handbooks, checklists, etc. are broken…

Click here if you’re interested in seeing the website.

The Health Choices Commission Czar…

Posted on 07 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Barack Obama has expressed interest in appointing a new czar.  The Health Choices Commission Czar…

Now, folks, The Health Choices Commissioner will decide what health care choices you have…or, probably more fitting, what health care choices you don’t have.

According to the AP, the office will “oversee medical plans nationwide.”  But, ladies and gentlemen, I thought we had state regulators for that sort of thing…

I don’t really know much more about the office, but, as soon as I know…you will know…

Now, if only the SRM would cover this…

Healthcare Pricetag:

Posted on 02 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Ladies and gentlemen, drum-roll please…

The cost of Obamacare is…

$611 Billion.

That is $611,000,000,000.

According to CNN, that is, “…far less than previous estimates….”But folks, that is a lot of money.

And, according to a letter written by Senators Chris Dodd and Ted Kennedy, “fully 97 percent of Americans will have coverage.”  Now, I hate to parse language, but…That doesn’t make sense to me…And who gets to be in that three percent?

Sure, it may cost less…but that’s over half a trillion dollars…Who’s gonna pay for it?  Taxing healthcare?  Then people will just go to public insurance, bankrupting the system.
