New Video: Barack Obama Admits Government Healthcare Will Eliminate Private Insurance

Posted on 03 August 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, this video includes Barack Obama saying he is for a “single payer system.”  He also says that the government run “public option” will eliminate private insurance.  The video also shows Jan Schakowsky bragging about tearing down the health insurance system–you may remember my post on that earlier this year…

Watch the explosive video here:

UPDATE:  August 4, 2009:

The White House goes to the web to attack the Drudge Report.

Apparently the above video just cherry picked certain statements…but its pretty damning that he said that it will eliminate private insurance…

They’re in damage control here, folks.

Also, I think it is wrong that they are attacking the Drudge Report…calling it “misinformation.”

Oh, and, Happy Birthday, Barry!

Botax

Posted on 27 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Botox, face lifts, tummy tucks, hair transplants, etc., may be taxed 10% in order to pay for the $1 trillion health overhaul.

From Congress Daily: “Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucustold reporters he had heard some ‘interesting,’ ‘creative,’ and ‘kind of fun’ ideas.”

Fun taxes?  Is this guy a loon?

The only state that taxes cosmetic surgery is New Jersey.

Developing…

California Reaches "Basic Agreement" on Budget…

Posted on 20 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

UPDATE:  California has passed a budget…check back for more updates…

Here is the previous post…:

Yes, ladies and gentlemen of California, Governor Arnie said today that he and lawmakers had reached a “basic agreement” on a budget…

Just days ago, I reported that California was getting close to a deal…

But will it last?  If it does…we can pay our bills…and maybe no more furloughs…

All Democrats and several Republicans must vote in it’s favor for it to pass.

California socialite, Karen Bass, spoke of the deal, saying “We have closed the deficit. … We have protected the safety net.”

However, the plan includes $15 Billion in budget cuts…

There is also a plan to allow drilling off of the California coast…

However, several state parks will have to close.

All with no tax increases…

Now, keep in mind, this plan isn’t great…it works…and slows the free-fall we were in just days ago…

If they can pass it…

Billions for Parks and Rec in Healthcare Bill…

Posted on 09 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, The healthcare bill–in both the House and Senate–have provisions to spend billions of dollars on “infrastructure.”

Walking paths, lighting for playgrounds, all stem from the healthcare bill.  Uncle Teddy’s handlers said that it is needed to improve the overall livelihood of folks that use the parks.

I call it an excuse to spend more money they don’t have.

The limit for spending in the Senate version of the bill is up to O-Man himself.

The limit for the House version of the bill is $1.6 Billion a year…

And, no, they don’t know where they’re going to get the money.

The group, Trust for America’s Health is behind some of the language in the bill:

The spending is needed to “create the infrastructure to support active living and access to nutritious foods in a safe environment.’’

Obama said that this is needed as “preventative care.”

This is “the largest investment ever in preventive care, because that’s one of the best ways to keep our people healthy and our costs under control.’’

Yeah…you don’t have to do tests anymore…Cuts costs…

California: 3 Furlough Days and Still No Budget…

Posted on 01 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

UPDATE:  July 20, 2009:  CALIFORNIA REACHES “BASIC AGREEMENT” ON BUDGET…Please read…

Folks, California Governor Arnie has ordered a third furlough day for State workers…

And we still don’t have a budget…

And probably can’t pay for state parks (oh my!)… Which, in turn, could cause the Federal Government to steal our land.

And IOUs as money…

Oh, and, the deficit has $26.3 Billion.  BILLION.

I think that means that they should pretty much CUT EVERYTHING.

Please save me from my government…

UPDATE: July 9, 2009:  Ok, here’s the deal.  California is proposing that state workers take three furlough days and a 5% decrease in pay.

If the 5% decrease in pay doesn’t pass, the governor can order another furlough day.  There is no limit, according to a lawyer-friend of mine, to the number of furlough days that can be ordered…

Arnie said that he will not look at a bill until there’s a budget.  And, of course, the Legislature is so fixed in their ideology, that they have to resort to acting like children and working on bills that aren’t the budget.

I think Arnie should start announcing a new furlough day every week until the legislature gets hounded by its constituents to pass a budget.

Feds to Seize California Land!

Posted on 01 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

So, as you have probably heard, California has no money.  They’re issuing IOUs as payment…

And, Governor Arnie proposed to closure of 220 state parks to try and close the ever-expanding budget gap–it would save $143 Million.

Now, the Federal Government said Arnie can’t do that.  And, if he does, they will seize the land.

Why?  Because they used to be on Federal land.  That, apparently, gives the Federal Government carte blanche to take what is ours–Citizens of the state of California…

Six State parks are eligible for seizure…

I think this might be a tenth amendment issue…
