Today at the daily White House presser, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs actually uttered the phrase ‘war on terror.’
Contrast that against previous statements by the Obama Administration that the ‘war on terrorism’ is over. I suppose ‘Overseas Contingency Operation’ didn’t roll off the tongue quite as nicely as they had hoped…

Ladies and Gentlemen, Barack Obama has been on a media blitz. He has campaigned all over Europe. Before that he campaigned all over the United States…after he was elected…Since he was elected, many things have happened that have shaped the international political landscape in ways no one expected. Pirates in Somolia, Iran running 7,000 nuclear enrichment facilities, and gunmen overtaking buildings and holding people hostage on American soil has all happened since Obama was elected…And what does he do? Not say anything. He told us that we could hope for a better day and could expect change. He got one of them right. We got change. George Bush was at ground zero the day after September 11, 2001. He gave an impromptu speech while standing on a pile of rubble, holding a megaphone in the middle of the greatest “man caused disaster” America has ever seen. Where is Barack Obama? Where is our president? He doesn’t give speeches, his teleprompter does. What America needs right now is a leader who won’t stand behind a podium and refuse to acknowledge a crisis, we need a president who will roll up his sleeves and make a statement.
Currently, we have an American held hostage aboard a vessel flying the American flag. And when Obama asked for a response, he refused to take questions on the subject.

No, folks. You did not read that wrong, nor is it an error. Carlos Johnson of Sacramento California faces up to 1,500 years in prison for his violent robberies in 2005.
According to sacbee.com, Johnson was convicted of the robberies of “five movie theaters, four hotels, two banks, a parking garage office and a restaurant…” and a partridge from a pear tree.
That isn’t a 1,500 year prison sentence, that’s more like a paragraph. Really? Fifteen hundred years? That is three quarters of the way back to Jesus’ time. If he is sentenced to this amazing amount of time, he will be released in 3508. Talk about a long time.
