More lies from President Obama on Tuesday.
Bami Obama stood before the Nation on Tuesday in New Hampshire and said:
“Now, if you hear some of the critics, they’ll say, well, the Recovery Act, I don’t know if that’s really worked, because we still have high unemployment,” the president said. “But what they fail to understand is that every economist, from the left and the right, has said, because of the Recovery Act, what we’ve started to see is at least a couple of million jobs that have either been created or would have been lost. The problem is, 7 million jobs were lost during the course of this recession.”
LIAR!
I mean, really. Every economist? Every single one?
I’ll do him a favor, even though he said “every economist from the left to the right,” I will exclude The Heritage Foundation, CATO, and all the other crazy-right-wingers.
His own administration–Recovery.gov–says he only “saved or created” 650,000.
I just went to Recovery.gov and it said “Recovery Funded Jobs.”
That’s even more useless than their previous metric of “Saved or Created.”
And, as it turns out, Peter Orszag–who works in the EOP (for all you “f*cking retards“that’s the Executive Office of the President)–has decided that using the SoC metric is so last news cycle. (.pdf)
So they made the switch to a much more reliable system of measurement.
But this is all moot because Bami wasn’t even supposed to say what he said.
Here’s what was prepared for him:
“I understand why some people are wondering whether the Recovery Act has really worked. Because while these steps mean 2 million Americans are working right now who’d otherwise be unemployed, and our economy is growing again instead of shrinking – and growing at the fastest rate in 6 years – we lost 7 million jobs during this recession.”
LIES.
