Obama to Turn it Around?

Posted on 26 January 2010 by Mr. Harrington

It seems that Barack Obama is feeling the pressure of the eternal special interest group, The American People.

The Washington Post is reporting that, during the President’s State of the Union Address, he will propose a federal spending freeze.

That’s right, folks.

For the remainder of his first term in office, Congress would be limited to spending $447 billion on non-military expenditures.

It seems like that would severely limit his legislative aspirations.

But, remember, in the words of O-Man himself,

“I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.”

And this is all very interesting because Bami criticized McCain’s proposed spending freeze during the campaign, saying something about a scalpel to cut the budget…I don’t know…

I think this is a diversion.  I think Obama is trying to let off some steam now, so, when the elections roll around in November, people won’t be as mad at him.

Obama to GOP: “Stop trying to frighten the American people.”

Posted on 16 December 2009 by Mr. Harrington

This is idiotic.  Frankly, it’s the Liberals who are attempting to frighten the American people.

Bami actually said to the GOP, “Stop trying to frighten the American People.”

Are you serious?

Read

Now, that was December 9th.  It’s now the 16th and what does Bami do?

Fearmonger.

“If we don’t pass it, here’s the guarantee….your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you.  Potentially they’re going to drop your coverage, because they just can’t afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year.”

If the Healthcare bill doesn’t pass…“the federal government will go bankrupt.”

“Because if we don’t do this, nobody argues with the fact that health care costs are going to consume the entire federal budget.”

Read

Woah…who’s fearmongering now?

And…as a quick aside…

He said this the same day he signed a $1.1 Trillion spending bill…

Read

And the same day that the House approved a $155 Billion jobs bill…

Read

WHAT THE HELL WAS THE FIRST BILL FOR?  All the shovel ready jobs?!

I thought we already did this…

But to bring it all back…

When Bami says that the federal government will go bankrupt without the Health care bill, does he mean that they’ll stop spending?

UPDATE:  I forgot to mention…

The debt exceeds the debt limit…Good job, folks!

Oregon Jobs Lasted One Week

Posted on 29 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, this is deception if I’ve ever seen it.  The AP is reporting that, in Oregon, lawmakers have spent $176 million to create jobs.

They created 3,236 jobs.  Most of which lasted only 35 hours.  One work week…

From the AP:

“The White House requires states to report numbers in terms of full-time, yearlong jobs. That means a part-time mechanic counts as half a job. A full-time construction worker who has a three-month paving contract counts as one-fourth of a job.

Using that method, the AP’s analysis of figures in Oregon shows the program so far has created the equivalent of 215 full-time jobs that will last three months.”

More from the AP:

“If Oregon’s dollars-to-jobs ratio remains steady, the program will create about 688 full-time, yearlong jobs. So far, it’s generated only enough hours to employ 54 people full-time for a year.”

Is this what is happening nationwide?

California Reaches "Basic Agreement" on Budget…

Posted on 20 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

UPDATE:  California has passed a budget…check back for more updates…

Here is the previous post…:

Yes, ladies and gentlemen of California, Governor Arnie said today that he and lawmakers had reached a “basic agreement” on a budget…

Just days ago, I reported that California was getting close to a deal…

But will it last?  If it does…we can pay our bills…and maybe no more furloughs…

All Democrats and several Republicans must vote in it’s favor for it to pass.

California socialite, Karen Bass, spoke of the deal, saying “We have closed the deficit. … We have protected the safety net.”

However, the plan includes $15 Billion in budget cuts…

There is also a plan to allow drilling off of the California coast…

However, several state parks will have to close.

All with no tax increases…

Now, keep in mind, this plan isn’t great…it works…and slows the free-fall we were in just days ago…

If they can pass it…

Just Wait 'Til You Read What Was Spent Where…

Posted on 20 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Folks, this kills me.  Here are some of the things on which Recovery.gov has said that we have spent money:

All links to their respective invoices…

Ladies and gentlemen, it turns out there actually is pork in the stimulus package…

$16,784,272 for “Canned Pork”

$5,708,260 to “Process Cheese”

$1,562,568 for “Mozzarella Cheese”

$351,807 to “Replace and Upgrade the Dumbwaiter” Now, if I may, why not just upgrade or replace?  Why do both?

$1,191,200 for “2 Pound Frozen Ham, Sliced”

$2,531,600 for “Ham, Water Added, Cooked, Frozen, Sliced, 2-lb” Now, if I may, isn’t that what they spent money on above?

And, if you look closely…they’re the SAME DAMN company…

So, actually, they spent $3.7 Mil for ham…

I looked up projects near my homeland of Sacramento, California.  Here are some of them…

In San Fransisco:

Recipient Name :DEL MONTE CORPORATION
Project Description :undefined
Available Funds :$5,510,268
Project Location : SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Recipient Name :DEL MONTE CORPORATION
Project Description :undefined
Available Funds :$3,424,258
Project Location : SAN FRANCISCO, CA

So, they just kinda have almost $9 Mil to play with…

In Placerville–which is not that big of a place on Highway 50…:

Recipient Name :REVA MURPHY ASSOCIATES, INC.
Project Description :“RECOVERY” ROOF REPLACEMENTS FOR THE CARPENTER SHOP, AUTO SHOP, ECHO SUMMIT CHALET, BUNKER HILL LOOKOUT WALKWAY & ALDER RESIDENCE.JOB CODE 0503 CRFR01. THIS IS BEING DONE AS AN 8(A) CONTRACT.
Available Funds :$399,997
Project Location : PLACERVILLE, CA

In Redding–Also not a big place up north of Sacramento:

Recipient Name :CH2M HILL INC
Project Description :REMEDIAL ACTION (SEDIMENT REMOVAL, YEAR 2-PHASE) AT IRON MOUNTAIN MINE SUPERFUND SITE, SHASTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA.
Available Funds :$20,550,000
Project Location : REDDING, CA

Click here to look up your area…the bigger the circle, the bigger the cost…

UPDATE:  July 21, 2009:

In defense of Ham, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, said that they did not buy two pounds of ham, but rather, 760,000 pounds of ham for $1.2 Million–about $1.50 a pound…

He went on to say that his department bought 837,936 pounds of mozzarella cheese…

Obama: "Stimulus Worked as Intended."

Posted on 11 July 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Ok, folks, this is idiotic.

The Economic Stimulus Package “has worked as intended.”

“It has already extended unemployment insurance and health insurance to those who have lost their jobs in this recession.  It has delivered $43 billion in tax relief to American working families and business.”

Now, ladies and gentlemen, I’m getting a little confused on who wants what, here.  Let’s break it down–no one will be dancing…

In my post from a couple of days ago, I reported that an Obama adviser wants a second stimulus…

So, chalk one up for both sides.  Joe Biden thinks we should hold off, but the adviser says we should go for it.

Now, let’s take a look at how the Economic Stimulus has worked…

Of course, many have heard about how dead people are receiving economic Stimulus checks…

Economic Stimulus money has surpassed taxation as biggest revenue generator for States.

Illinois has snagged 12% of the economic stimulus money…and, of the 2,000 approved projects, 243 of them go to the state of Illinois…coincidence?

Just remember, that was all supposed to happen…

Oh, and, not to stir the pot, but, Where are those jobs?  I don’t even remember how many we were supposed to create, or save, or creatorsave or whatever the verbiage of the administration is at the time of this writing…

Nancy Pelsosi Wants Us All to Go Green

Posted on 28 May 2009 by Mr. Harrington

“We have so much room for improvement.  Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory…of how we are taking responsibility.”

Folks, what does that mean?

She’s over in Shanghi or something, preaching to students about how we should become green…

Is that really what the Speaker of the House should be doing?  Especially now, when Barack Obama wants to jam through some climate bills?  And some approval committees?

But, ladies and gentlemen, I feel that this is just a distraction from what is really going on…We should focus on the important issues, like what is really inside the climate bill…

The New Climate Bill Isn't Just for the Climate…

Posted on 27 May 2009 by Mr. Harrington

If you lose your job because of the new climate change bill…they will pay you for…three years…

And, according to Glenn Beck, that could cost the taxpayer…$33 Billion.

Here is the reasoning.

2.2 jobs are lost for every green job created.

Barry O. wants to create 5 million green jobs.

That’s 11 million lost jobs…That’s a devastating number of lost jobs.

$3,000 for each person whose job has been destroyed…

$33 Billion.

Why do the congress and Barack Obama want to jam through all these bills and approval hearings?  Probably because they don’t want people to read the bills, or ask the tough questions…

Dead People Receive Economic Stimulus Checks…

Posted on 15 May 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, its true.  Dead people are receiving economic stimulus funds…

Blamed on the rushed schedule, people are receiving mail for their long-since-dead relatives…

One case, in fact, left the United States for Italy in 1933; returning briefly in 1979…

Good work, folks…Remember, this is a government program…do you really want them controlling other things?  Like healthcare?
