Secrecy: Obama Hides Behind FOIA Exemption

Posted on 16 March 2010 by Mr. Harrington

Under the Obama administration, during the 2009 budget year, federal agencies have cited an exemption that allows the government to withhold information about its “decision making process.”

During Obama’s 9 months during the 2009 budget year, agencies cited the “deliberative process” 70,779 times.

During George W. Bush’s final full budget year, the provision was used 47,395 times.

Obama said he wants his administration “to be the most open and transparent ever.”  It will be hard to do if agencies keep doing what they’re doing…

Also, Ed Morrissey at Hot Air mentioned the denial rate…

Now, such denials have increased by 49%, and that’s not counting whether overall requests have increased or decreased.  Let’s try to guess: would the press be making more inquiries during Obama’s term in office than Bush’s, or fewer?  To their credit, Raw Story has that data, too:

All told, the 17 agencies reviewed by AP reported getting 444,924 FOIA requests in fiscal 2009, compared with 493,610 in fiscal 2008.

Not just fewer, but over ten percent fewer requests.  Putting those numbers together, the Bush administration had a denial rate of 9.6%.  The Obama administration has a denial rate of 15.9%.   Which President promised more transparency?  And why is the press 10% less interested in the inner workings of government now than it was in 2008?

Obama: “I Don’t Count My Time” Because I’m the President

Posted on 25 February 2010 by Mr. Harrington

Barack Obama, in a stunning example of his frustration with the Bipartisan health care summit, said that he didn’t count his time because he’s the President.

Check out the video here.

The Man-Child is so frustrated with the whole thing.  This has backfired the most stunning of ways.

He accused Eric Cantor of using props and theatrics by using the text of the bill.

Obama is so frustrated, he has had to resort to calling the very subject of the summit a prop.

How much do you want to bet Bami finds some way to worm his way out of continuing the dog and pony show?

Obama Hijacks Press Briefing, Continues to Show Lack of Understanding

Posted on 09 February 2010 by Mr. Harrington

Barack Obama made an unexpected appearance at the White House Press Briefing this morning.

A reporter told Obama that small businesses can’t anticipate the future, they can’t anticipate future costs and taxes, and because of that uncertainty, they are not hiring.

O-man said that the problem is with loans…

Check out the exchange and my analysis after the jump…

Obama: “Every Economist” says I’ve Saved or Created 2 Million Jobs

Posted on 04 February 2010 by Mr. Harrington

More lies from President Obama on Tuesday.

Bami Obama stood before the Nation on Tuesday in New Hampshire and said:

“Now, if you hear some of the critics, they’ll say, well, the Recovery Act, I don’t know if that’s really worked, because we still have high unemployment,” the president said. “But what they fail to understand is that every economist, from the left and the right, has said, because of the Recovery Act, what we’ve started to see is at least a couple of  million jobs that have either been created or would have been lost. The problem is, 7 million jobs were lost during the course of  this recession.”

LIAR!

I mean, really.  Every economist? Every single one?

I’ll do him a favor, even though he said “every economist from the left to the right,” I will exclude The Heritage Foundation, CATO, and all the other crazy-right-wingers.

His own administration–Recovery.gov–says he only “saved or created” 650,000.

I just went to Recovery.gov and it said “Recovery Funded Jobs.”

That’s even more useless than their previous metric of “Saved or Created.”

And, as it turns out, Peter Orszag–who works in the EOP (for all you “f*cking retards“that’s the Executive Office of the President)–has decided that using the SoC metric is so last news cycle. (.pdf)

So they made the switch to a much more reliable system of measurement.

But this is all moot because Bami wasn’t even supposed to say what he said.

Here’s what was prepared for him:

“I understand why some people are wondering whether the Recovery Act has really worked.  Because while these steps mean 2 million Americans are working right now who’d otherwise be unemployed, and our economy is growing again instead of shrinking – and growing at the fastest rate in 6 years – we lost 7 million jobs during this recession.”

LIES.

824,000

Posted on 03 February 2010 by Mr. Harrington

That’s how many jobs will be lost in a revision to the unemployment numbers…

824,000.

That’s almost the number of jobs that were “saved or created.”

Right?

Obama to Turn it Around?

Posted on 26 January 2010 by Mr. Harrington

It seems that Barack Obama is feeling the pressure of the eternal special interest group, The American People.

The Washington Post is reporting that, during the President’s State of the Union Address, he will propose a federal spending freeze.

That’s right, folks.

For the remainder of his first term in office, Congress would be limited to spending $447 billion on non-military expenditures.

It seems like that would severely limit his legislative aspirations.

But, remember, in the words of O-Man himself,

“I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.”

And this is all very interesting because Bami criticized McCain’s proposed spending freeze during the campaign, saying something about a scalpel to cut the budget…I don’t know…

I think this is a diversion.  I think Obama is trying to let off some steam now, so, when the elections roll around in November, people won’t be as mad at him.

Difference Between ‘94 and ‘10? Ego

Posted on 25 January 2010 by Mr. Harrington

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Marion Barry is reporting that Barry Obama said that the difference between the 1994 midterm election and the 2010 election is him.

“Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.”

Yup…Ego will set you free.

Remember, this is from the guy who needs a teleprompter to talk to a sixth grade class…

Bami Feels the Heat on Health Vote

Posted on 20 January 2010 by Mr. Harrington

Well…it seems that Bami is scared.

He is asking the congress not to “jam” through the healthcare vote until Scott Brown is sworn into office.

Bami also said that the same sort of anger that put him in office contributed to Brown’s win.

Well…He’s sort of right…  The problem with his thinking is as follows:

They’re mad at Obama.

Now, he is doing something really well.  Damage control.

If he had not said anything about the healthcare vote, people–myself included–would have been very upset, if he had told them to jam it through…it would have been the end of him.

Let’s just hope that Brown will turn out to be a champion for the people.

With Brown’s victory yesterday, it makes the headline in the picture that much better…

Mass. Senator Scott Brown in Cosmo...

UPDATE: 11:58:

Harry Reid had this to say regarding the healthcare vote,

“…We are not going to rush into anything. We’re going to wait until the new Senator arrives before we do anything new on healthcare.”

Read–Politico

UPDATE: 7:12:

Now, I realized when I was at work that I may have made this sound like a victory for us…It is far from it, ladies and gentlemen.  By the simple fact that they continue to try and pass healthcare shows how out of touch they are with America.

These clowns think that if they continue to do the same thing, there will be a different result…

Which is quite unfortunate for them because come November, they will be out of a job.

UPDATE: 9:03:

The liberal wind machine that is Joseph A. Palermo has been cranked up and is a-blowin’…he might just be the cause of the Left Coast’s storms…

In his article he just posted to the Huffington Post, he said that Brown won, not because of his ability to connect with the people and his stance against the President’s agenda, but, rather, because of Obama’s failure to “[listen] to his progressive base.”

So…let me get this straight, Prof., Scott Brown, Republican Conservative Anti-Progressive, won against Martha Coakley, Democrat Liberal Progressive, because Obama, Progressive Kingpin, didn’t listen to his progressive base?  Are you serious?

Let me guess…

The Conservative wins in New Jersey and Virginia were caused by Bami’s lack of Progressiveness?  The American people want more Progressivism, so they elect die hard Conservatives?

Palermo also blames Teddy himself for, “not cultivating an obvious heir.”

Hmm…Now, I’m no scholar like Professor Palermo here, but if I recall my third grade civics class, Kings cultivate heirs, and the Patriots revolted against the King…

But I could be wrong…

Here is his opening paragraph:

So the Senate seat that John Fitzgerald Kennedy won by defeating the incumbent Republican Henry Cabot Lodge in 1952, and then passed on to his brother, Edward Moore Kennedy, in 1962 has fallen to a Republican far more rightwing than Cabot Lodge. It’s partly Ted Kennedy’s fault for not cultivating an obvious heir. It’s partly Martha Coakley’s fault for being Martha Coakley. But mostly it’s President Barack Obama’s fault for not listening to his progressive base and forsaking us to follow the Rahm Emanuel path of cutting deals with every corporate special interest in Washington in an attempt to perpetuate Democrats in power the same way Republicans do.

UPDATE: 10:10:

I just checked Drudge and saw that Barack Obama said,

“…we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people…”

Hey, Palermo, Speaking to the American People…not the fringe Progressives!

Progressive Lunacy…

Chicago Thugs: Bami Threatens Rep. DeFazio

Posted on 18 December 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Obama: “Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother.”

This is Chicago Thuggery at its best, ladies and gentlemen.  Obama’s Chicago policy is hurting America.

It seems that O-man is unable to get his ideas passed by convincing people…so he has to do a little convincing, himself.

Obama to GOP: “Stop trying to frighten the American people.”

Posted on 16 December 2009 by Mr. Harrington

This is idiotic.  Frankly, it’s the Liberals who are attempting to frighten the American people.

Bami actually said to the GOP, “Stop trying to frighten the American People.”

Are you serious?

Read

Now, that was December 9th.  It’s now the 16th and what does Bami do?

Fearmonger.

“If we don’t pass it, here’s the guarantee….your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you.  Potentially they’re going to drop your coverage, because they just can’t afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year.”

If the Healthcare bill doesn’t pass…“the federal government will go bankrupt.”

“Because if we don’t do this, nobody argues with the fact that health care costs are going to consume the entire federal budget.”

Read

Woah…who’s fearmongering now?

And…as a quick aside…

He said this the same day he signed a $1.1 Trillion spending bill…

Read

And the same day that the House approved a $155 Billion jobs bill…

Read

WHAT THE HELL WAS THE FIRST BILL FOR?  All the shovel ready jobs?!

I thought we already did this…

But to bring it all back…

When Bami says that the federal government will go bankrupt without the Health care bill, does he mean that they’ll stop spending?

UPDATE:  I forgot to mention…

The debt exceeds the debt limit…Good job, folks!
