That’s right, folks. Yesterday, our own Matthew Harrington (or ‘Mike’ as the lady from the BBC called him) was a guest on the BBC’s radio hour “World Have Your Say”.
The topic of discussion: is there too much pressure on scientists?
Matt can be heard after the link around the 50 minute mark.

Most folks are smart enough to realize the media is in, to quote the title of Bernie Goldberg’s recent book, a slobbering love affair with President Barack Obama, but no one really knew just how much love the mainstream media was lavishing on the guy.
According to the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, the Obama administration has graced the front page of the New York Times 405 through mid-August of this year totaling 119,678 column inches, or 9,973 column feet of Obama coverage on the Times front page alone. That is almost two miles of front-page coverage in the New York Times alone.
Worse still, many critics of the president have called him out for his almost constant media presence, saying that he spends more time campaigning and stumping his positions than he does running the country. Unfortunately for those who support him, the amount of media coverage he receives and the number of interviews he has given–a staggering 66 as of mid-August–gives credence to this claim. During the same amount of time former President George W. Bush gave 16 interviews and Bill Clinton gave a whopping 6.
Maybe the President would do well to spend a little less time on David Letterman’s couch and a lot more time in his chair in the Oval Office…

Ladies and gentlemen, this is nothing new. I have been called many things in my life, and what follows is just another to add to my list.
Apparently, some of my former classmates found my blog and made some…unsavory comments about it.
Here, I will deconstruct their arguments and present their lapses in judgment, as well as logic.
What follows will not be censored, however, I will withhold all names.
So, if your ready to see the latest hate mail, check it out after the jump…

David Buckner, a professor of organizational leadership at Columbia University lost consciousness today on Glenn Beck, a news and analysis show hosted by a gentleman of the same name, broadcast on the FoxNews Channel. He was standing in front of a large screen with Beck discussing the the factors that lead to the bankruptcy of American companies.
According to Beck, Buckner was feeling ill earlier in the day and suddenly lost consciousness. Beck later remarked that “Everyone thought it was part of the show.”
Buckner is reported to be in stable condition and is being tended to by medical professionals.
We at the Report wish Mr. Buckner the speediest recovery possible and we will be sure to keep him in our prayers.

It would seem that Americans aren’t as obsessed with First Lady Michelle Obama as the media thinks they are. The sales numbers of a general-interest magazine, while not terrible, are–like Mrs. Obama’s looks–just average and do not reflect huge sales increases as many often predict. This however is not the case with African American-oriented magazines such as Ebony where cover images of the First Lady and her husband create huge sales increases, which is not surprising. (Normally I would make a joke here, but as the Chia Pet incident of earlier spotlighted, perceived racial overtones are no laughing matter…)

UPDATE: Michelle Obama gets Waxed!
There is now a wax sculpture of the first lady. She joins the two other First Ladies with wax sculptures: Hillary Clinton and Jackie Kennedy…
Don’t you actually have to do something in order to be made into wax? Oh well…here’s the video.
