Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from the group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams.
This is idiotic. This isn’t about football, this isn’t about ownership, this isn’t about the St. Louis Rams. This is about the thought police attacking Rush Limabugh.
Al Sharpton succeeded in petitioning the NFL and apparently Dave Checketts to drop Rush.
According to Breitbart,
“Checketts, the chairman of SCP Worldwide, announced that Limbaugh had been dumped toward the end of a news release. ”It has become clear that his involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions; endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis,” Checketts said. “As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion.”
I’ll bet that Checketts pushed him out. There’s no way Rush would back down. There’s more to this…
Now, here we come to the Wikipedia issue. The Nation accused Rush of saying some things that he didn’t say.
Here are two of the quotes that were cited as reasons El Rushbo is “incendiary…”
You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray (Dr. King’s assassin). We miss you, James. Godspeed.”
“Let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.”
The first one was posted to Wikiquote, then used in a book to attack Rush. Debunked long ago…
The second one has not attribution. No source. Nothing.

UPDTE: October 15, 2009:
It turns out, George Soros may be involved in the removal of Rush Limbaugh from the bid to buy the St. Louis Rams.
The only lead on that right now is the following from an October 12, 2009 story from Bloomberg:
Limbaugh’s group is led by former Madison Square Garden President and current St. Louis Blues and Real Salt Lake majority owner Dave Checketts, who brings a wealth of sports industry contacts, know-how and credibility. Checketts also brings big-time backers like George Soros, who financed the duo’s failed attempt to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2003.
Developing…
I’ll have more on that after work…
