Folks, this scares me; a lot.
Apparently there is a lot of “disinformation” regarding the health care system. And apparently, “Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”
They are asking you to turn in people. Folks, please. Turn me in!
Here is what you can tell them…
Matt Harrington of The Harrington Report thinks the best way to reform health care is:
Tort Reform
Matt Harrington of the Harrington Report thinks that:
- Obama wants to force private insurance companies out of business.
- Obama wants a single payer system.
- Obama means what he said; including wanting to eliminate private health insurance. Nothing was taken out of context.
- The only “misinformation” is coming from the White House.
- People should continue to attend town hall meetings and give their congressmen the what for, even if they are called extremists.
So, folks, if you are reading this, please, listen to our fearless leader, turn me in. Shoot an email over to “flag@whitehouse.gov” and tell them that I am propagating propaganda.
Click above to see my email, turning myself in.
Now, call me crazy for turning myself in…but I want to know what is going on here.
Did anyone flag themselves or someone they know? Let’s hear about it!
UPDATE: Lots of views on this post. I hope you’re all reporting me!
UPDATE: WH press secretary Robert Gibbs, when asked about the flag email and he said, “I cannot understand your question.
UPDATE: August 7, 2009:
Ladies and Gentlemen, the anger is brewing.
Nancy Pelosi accused the protesters of carrying swastikas.
They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare’
Folks, while you report me, please, send a note in reporting Nancy Pelosi too. No one is carrying any racist, hateful propaganda.
She can’t fight the facts, so she has to try discredit those who oppose her.
Also, Texas Senator John Cornyn accused the Obama White House of compiling an enemies list.
Effectively, that’s what flag@whitehouse.gov is.
Here is the transcript–from Whitehouse.gov, which I think is hilarious–of Robert Gibbs denying flag@whitehouse.gov.
Q Do you know how many e-mails have been sent to the flag at whitehouse.gov address? And, secondly, isn’t the White House required by law to save all correspondence it receives, so will it be informing individuals whose e-mails have been forwarded that they might want to have a chance to correct the historical record about the alleged fishiness of their e-mails?MR. GIBBS: I, for the life of me, didn’t understand your question.
Q Is the White House required to save the e-mails?
MR. GIBBS: Obviously, the National Archives documents correspondence with the White House.
Q So the people whose e-mails have been forwarded, they won’t be informed that their e-mails are being forwarded to the government?
MR. GIBBS: Maybe I’m missing something. I’m sure you’re hashing some nefarious plot, but I, for the life of me, can’t understand it.
Yes, sir.
And finally, O-man had this to say, “But I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.”
UPDATE: August 10, 2009:
This sort of “community reporting project” is happening in my home city of Sacramento, California. They are asking folks to report their neighbors for wasting water.
For those that are out of the loop on Sacramento news and politics…apparently, we don’t have a whole lot of water…even though the river which runs behind my house has been pretty high…
UPDATE: August 12, 2009:
Deputy White House Press Secretary REFUSED to answer Megyn Kelly’s question: “Are you purging the email addresses?”
He absolutely refused to answer the question.
She then showed him up. Its too bad he’s even worse than Robert Gibbs…
So, I think it is safe to say that they are not going to delete the email addresses.
Bill Burton: “They are wearing swastikas.”
UPDATE: August 15, 2009:
I have sent another email to flag@whitehouse.gov…Check it out…
Click for full size.
UPDATE: August 17, 2009:
The White House has acknowledged that members of the general public have received unsolicited emails from the White House regarding health care reform. However, they are passing the buck onto advocacy groups saying that the groups sign their members up for updates from the White House…
Developing…
UPDATE: August 18, 2009:
So, as it turns out, the White House has removed the email address flag@whitehouse.gov. It no longer exists. They also acknowledged that folks were receiving unsolicited emails from the White House, saying,
“It has come to our attention that some people may have been subscribed to our email lists without their knowledge –- likely as a result of efforts by outside groups of all political stripes -– and we regret any inconvenience caused by receiving an unexpected message. We’re certainly not interested in anyone receiving emails from the White House who don’t want them. That’s one reason why we have never — and will never — add names from a commercial or political list to the White House list.
Now, if I could just stop everyone there for just a second, the egregious grammatical error in the second sentence is really rather stunning…
Now, this news doesn’t mean that they have stopped collecting information. They have retooled their mechanism and are now going through the Reality Check website…

I reported my 85-year old mother to flag@whitehouse.gov and asked them to “straighten her out”. She said she was against euthanasia for the elderly in lieu of costly medical treatment.

Great blog. They never said they had to be FOR the healthcare plan, did they. if Not, Im sure they will send reports of the lies Obama and Pelosi are making.

I turned myself in yesterday. I sent a copy of HR3200 along with the chance for them to debate any points that I had outlined in a civil structured and tempered way. I figure at the very least it would get them a copy of the bill, not that they will read it and not that the Dems care. All they are thinking is how much fun it is to be in the service of self and have so many options to pay for anything their hearts can dream up with someone elses money.

I turned myself in today. As with most everything else, Obama takes both sides of this issue; on the one hand, he says he favors a one-payer plan (government run), on the other, he says that if you like the doctor and health plan you have, you can keep it. Sure you can. For about 15 minutes.

I turned myself in today. Obama is an arrogant ass. Not sure if that’s true on not, but think they should investigate

Folks, the governments of Russia, Germany, Japan, China, Israel, Iran, Iraq and India are less than 100 years old. Perhaps it’s our turn to change things in a BIG way.
How bad could someone like Tommy Franks, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Norman Schwarzkopf be? The right leader could recess Congress for 10 years with the understanding that when Congress reconvenes it would be a different institution.
Imagine a Congress with term limits and Congressman that serve like members on a non-profit board. Volunteers willing to SERVE without pay. How about Congressional representatives that live on a college campus in DC, where they reside in dorms and eat in cafeterias without any special perks or privileges.
My ideal leader would make the following changes with the stroke of a pen:
1. Decriminalize drugs and end that ridiculous war
2. Disband the IRS and institute a flat National CONSUMPTION tax. Proceeds to be distributed equitably between a week Federal Government and the States where folks reside
4. How about erecting beautiful guillotine atop the platform of the Lincoln Memorial (perhaps two) and march Congress up the stairs and lop off their heads. People will pay big bucks to watch as the heads of imbeciles find their way down the stairs and into the Reflection Pool.
Of course a benevolent dictator may choose to order jail time equal to the years or decades they’ve squandered in Congress.
Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can … Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can
… Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can … Yes we can, yes we can, yes we can

Are they going to print the phone # for Dr. KEvorkian in the health care bill, or should we find our own Dr. Death? Seems like they want the seniors out of the way. Maybe they should think this out for they have a few likely candidates in congress. Off the top of my head, I can name a few, Pelosi, Reid, Frank,Dodd, Murtha. And don’t forget Helen Thomas. She is a fixture at the White House and I just know that she wouldn’t want to be overlooked.

I googled “sign up for daily email newsletter” this morning and signed flag@whitehouse.gov up for as many daily e-newsletters as I could.
I also forwarded them Kathleen Sebelius’ Op Ed from Tues because it was FULL of misinformation. Seemed pretty fishy to me.
August 6th, 2009 at 9:34 AM
Anytime a website requests an email address, I give the flag@whitehouse.gov Anyone who wants my email sounds fishy to me.
August 6th, 2009 at 10:12 AM
I turned myself in, used my name, address, phone number and email address with the following message (feel free to use it):
5 U.S.C. § 552a, United States agencies, including the Executive Office of the President shall, “maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity.”
Welcome to the USSA (United Socialist States of America)! You get the government you deserve, seems people wanted “Change” from Freedom, well those bastards who voted for Osama . . . err . . Obama got it.
Waiting for the revolt.

I turned myself in yesterday in order to save my “mob associates” from getting on the enemy list. Don’t think they are interested in messing with me or putting me on their “list” ‘cuz I’m almost 80 and in poor health….meaning I don’t have “that long”; and it’s not even likely I’ll have “that conversation” with my Dr. (saving taxpayer $)The least I can do for my country, right?
August 6th, 2009 at 1:51 PM
Thank you Alhabers, I did some stress releif today also. I found that signing up all the misinformation tellers out there to send their crap straight to the whitehouse to be so relaxing. Guess it could be considered preventative heath care in a way.
August 8th, 2009 at 11:09 AM
I think we should forward all the fishy emails to flag@whitehouse.gov, after all it is only fair to report ALL the fishy emails to the White house ( some of the ads re. adding inches seem absolutely fishy to me). I think Pres Obama is on to something here.
August 8th, 2009 at 3:58 PM
i turned myself in on fri. these jerks have to be stopped!!
August 9th, 2009 at 9:25 PM
The Whitehouse wants to dispel the lies being told regarding health care reform.
So if someone receives and email or run across website spreading lies, they want to know what lie is being told so they respond with the truth. They aren’t interested in who sent the email, just that the lie be sent to them so they can respond. Nothing wrong with that.
Turn people in? That’s silly. Well known right wing talk show host are against health care reform. It’s o.k. to be against health care reform. But base it on facts not lies.
August 10th, 2009 at 9:34 AM
The whitehouse established a website over the weekend to combat all of the health care bill’s opposition. It is:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck
As a good citizen I felt I should report it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
My email:
I just saw a website that seems VERY fishy. It is full of lies and distortions. Will you please put a stop to this netcrime!
The offending website is http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/
Thanks for protecting us from the lies!!
Sincerely,
A concerned and obedient citizen

That is excellent. Good work, fellow compatriot!
August 12th, 2009 at 4:12 PM
WHY DOESN’T SOME ONE REPORT PELOSI, BOXER AND FEINSTEIN? SEEMS THEY ARE ABOUT THE FISHIEST PEOPLE I KNOW. SOMEONE SHOULD WRAP THEM IN THE N. Y. TIMES AND PUT THEM ON THE W.HOUSE DOORSTEP.
