George Tiller's Clinic to Close For Good…

Posted on 09 June 2009 by Mr. Harrington

That’s right, folks.  George Tiller’s abortion clinic will close for good…pun intended.

While the closing of any abortion clinic is a victory for the unborn, I wish it did not involve the death of anyone.  That hurts our movement.  Acts of violence hurts the pro-life cause, and anyone that commits these heinous acts does not stand for the pro-life movement.

But anyway, it will close, and that is a victory.  While the closing is a victory, the whole story is a tragic defeat.

I guess this means LeRoy Carhart won’t take over…

    THE ABORTION DEBATE

All sperm and eggs should be saved by those who oppose abortion. If they don’t do that, they are baby killers.

Now how do you save sperm in dreams? Men will have to wear a condom and carefully remove the sperm without losing even one of them. They will have to wear condoms at all times. Women will also have to time their menstruation and take precautions not to lose one egg. They will have to undergo some procedure to remove them carefully.

They will need to unite these sperm and eggs so not to lose one of them. There is one big problem: what will they do with the trillions of sperm that have no egg. They will have to keep them alive somehow and wait for more eggs.

I wonder if the man who murdered this doctor knows that what he did was completely hypocritical of the message he was trying to get across.
I hope they re-open the clinic, which they probably will do.

  3. Katherine Says:

Your ‘pun’ is ridiculously offensive, no matter what side of the debate you’re on. The clinic is closing because Dr. Tiller was murdered, not for ‘good’.

I have no problem with people’s beliefs, whether pro-choice or anti-choice. I am grateful that you condemn the killing, and that you realize that it is detrimental to your cause. I respect your passion, but wish you would pursue that passion through education and support of women, rather than just trying to outlaw a medical procedure. However, it’s the fact that the vast majority of “pro-life” supporters are also pro-death penalty, pro-war (or call it preventive killing if you want), and against saving hundreds of thousands of lives in this country through a fair and just health care system…it’s that fact that upsets me with the hypocrisy of the majority of pro-lifers. Thank you for taking the time to read this…I am not trying to knock your beliefs, just trying to generate conversation so I can better understand your perspectives.

  5. Bman Says:

I agree, we should all return to fundamental values. Real Fundamental, as in Hungry Lions.
I am not suggesting that any nutty religious folks should actually lose their lives in the arena filled with Lions, but if it should happen, well that would just be God’s will. Let’s take the mentals out of religion and put the fun back in fundamental.

“However, it’s the fact that the vast majority of “pro-life” supporters are also pro-death penalty, pro-war (or call it preventive killing if you want), and against saving hundreds of thousands of lives in this country through a fair and just health care system…it’s that fact that upsets me with the hypocrisy of the majority of pro-lifers.”

Okay – take that argument and reverse it. There are a lot of people who are anti-war, anti-death penalty, want socialized health care, yet think that abortions are perfectly fine. Isn’t that also hypocritical? One main difference between the death penalty (which I would only support in an extreme case) and abortion is: a fetus never murdered anyone. Sure, there may be cases where innocents were executed, but in ALL cases of abortion an innocent is killed.

  7. Lindsay Says:

A medical procedure that could potentially save a woman’s life (literally or figuratively) should never be made illegal. It’s relatively easy to make another baby, but hard to find a new wife. A forced pregnancy from incest or rape is an abomination, without question.

Not everyone believes in God or has the same values you do. There is freedom of religion in this country, last time I checked what the founding fathers wrote. There is also a legal right to an abortion in the United State. We are not all ruled by the same religion, but we all live under the same LAW: ABORTION IS LEGAL. MURDER IS NOT. Abortion is legally not murder, and arguably a biological norm amongst people and animals.

Besides, if you do believe in God, shouldn’t you be glad the baby is going right to heaven before it has a chance to sin?

  8. Lindsay Says:

PS You pun isn’t funny. Joking about a public murder (in church!!) is shameful.

  9. Neeneko Says:

Considering that clinic specifically handled cases where the mother would die without the procedure,… this is not a victory for the unborn, it is a defeat for all the young mothers who will now die. But hey, it is only women, who cares right? It isn’t like they should have any say in the matter.

  10. Liz Says:

I read a comment here comparing death penalty, and war to abortion. Well let me explain the difference, the opposition to abortion (the rational one) stems from the principle that the LAW should defend the rights of both mother and child.

When you inject poison to the beating heart of a 8 month baby (viable) and then deliver it you are violating that person’s rights.

On the death penalty you respect the law and same at war.

Tiller and Carhart are murders and to be frank I am really happy he is out for GOOD!!!!

  11. crshedd Says:

    liz,

you said ‘On the death penalty you respect the law and same at war.’ but evidently you don’t think people need to respect the law when it comes to abortion.

with your logic, since i don’t believe in the death penalty it would be alright to gun down anyone who carries out the death penalty procedure?

  12. Dave Says:

I think it is wonderfull that someone stopped that baby killer.
It is a shame that he may go to jail for it after the baby killer murdered so many lives in his time. I pray laws will change to protect those who protect the helpless babys.

  13. belinda Says:

you are disgusting. if you dont know, in 1973 abortion was made legal by the supreme court. but you republican, catholic mother*******(Censored by the Harrington Report) just cant accept that, can you? when you yourself is in that situation then maybe you will have some more sense about the issue. but dont worry, you wont. i saw your picture!

  14. Mr. Harrington Says:

You are irrational. If you don’t know, abortion murders a beating heart. I’m going to assume that you meant the Doe v. Bolton case. The opinion of the Court was that a woman could get an abortion after viability if the continued pregnancy would interfere with her health. Now, I don’t understand how you consider me a “Republican.” I also don’t understand how that matters…Also, It’s not a matter of accepting the laws. It is a matter of fighting unjust laws. Killing children is wrong. Are you suggesting that we “catholic mother*******” should blindly follow the government? And also, it is unfortunate that you have to resort to personal attacks…Because that is the universal sign for “My argument doesn’t have a damn thing to stand on.”

Also, are you suggesting that I will find myself in a situation where my wife/girlfriend is pregnant? You have no idea what you are talking about…Now, I could make a personal attack against you…which seems to be what you want me to do…But I don’t need to. My argument is rational, yours isn’t. Now, you’re welcome to comment again if you can piece together a rational argument. Also, refrain from the use of fowl language, this is family friendly…that includes those who are not yet born…

  15. belinda Says:

no, i meant roe v. wade.
    consider this:
my friend, a doctor, is a devout catholic and is pro-life. in the 70s, he used to work in the ER when abortions were not legal. he saw so many women come in with butchered illegal abortions that he understands why they are legal. women are going to have abortions whether or not they are legal. it is better to make them safe and procured by a real doctor than risk the lives of the women who have them. not every women is meant to have a child.

and i make personal attacks against you because well, its easy.

  16. Mr. Harrington Says:

It may be “easy” to make personal attacks…and it also is a great measure of your character.

Also, there will never be any such thing as a “safe” abortion. Someone always dies…

You make a good argument that appeals to emotion; however, I’ll do you one better–with rational arguments:

Why kill the child? There are families all across America who want to adopt. Why do so many go to other countries to adopt children? Because allow the killing of our unwanted.

Now, your argument was better, but still not great…Come back and comment again when you can rationally explain why abortion is a constitutional right…

And remember, you’re welcome to hide behind the internet with your personal attacks, but remember, all you’re doing is showing everyone the faults of your character…

  17. belinda Says:

i dont see your argument anywhere?
why dont you state your opinions on the issue?
all i can tell is that you are pro life. why?
because a embryo, a fetus is removed? because it has the POTENTIAL to become a human being?

why not adopt a child from china? you know that most families give up their baby girls because they want a man to keep the family name so i do not see why adopting one from there is a problem.
