Perez vs. Prager

Posted on 22 April 2009 by Mr. Harrington

Last night on Larry King, Dennis Prager took on Perez Hilton on gay marriage.

Here’s the video:

Take a look at the analysis after the jump.

Perez brings up the standard gay marriage argument: Equal Rights.

Perez says that in the past, blacks could not marry rights, and that did happen; however, like Prager said, that was a matter of racism.

“…I’m talking about equality, the principals this country were [sic] founded on; that we should all be treated equal [sic].”

Folks, let’s take a look at this.

America was not founded on the basis of equality; America was founded on the basis of liberty.  We are born with different abilities and born into different situations, but, because we are free, we all have the same potential for greatness.

At right around the five minute mark, Dennis Prager makes a great arguement: Mothers provide something to a child that no two men can, and men provide something to a child that no two women can.

Immediately after this argument, Perez goes into “Oh my god!  I don’t know what to say anymore so I’m going to attack his character…” mode and asks Mr. Prager if he is trying to destroy American families…

And of course, Dennis comes up with another brilliant answer, “No. But I want the family to be based on the most important institution we have in society: marriage.”

Now, here.  Let’s take a look at Mr. Hilton’s video blog after the Miss USA debacle…

Mr. Hilton said that Miss California was boo’d after her answer..

No boos…Just wild applause…

And also, Mr. Perez, calling Miss California a dumb b**** is so professional.  Really, keep it up.  Shows how much of an upstanding world citizen you are…

Can you imagine the uproar if someone called Perez any of the litany of off-color names for gays?  But, apparently it is ok to call a woman a dumb b****.

I don’t understand why Perez Hilton is taken so seriously — he’s a self-proclaimed media clown; he dances around in front of people hoping to get their attention
